about

A conceptual piece detailing Óðinn's quest for the runes and the nine nights he spent, pierced by a spear, hanging in the branches of Yggdrasil. With narration in the Old Norse language (corresponding excerpts from the Vǫluspá and from the Hávamál.)

lyrics

From the Vǫluspá:
Ask veit eg standa,
heitir Yggdrasill,
hár baðmur, ausinn
hvíta auri;
þaðan koma döggvar
þær er í dala falla,
stendur æ yfir grænn
Urðarbrunni.

From the Hávamál:
Veit ek at ek hekk
vindga meiði á
nætr allar níu
geiri undaðr
ok gefinn Óðni
sjálfr sjálfum mér
á þeim meiði
er manngi veit
hvers hann af rótum renn
